DescriptionEarthenware, or pearlware. Pair of pitchers (C735-736). Design in relief, painted in high temperature colors under the glaze. Relief figures in heart-shaped medallions either side of each pitcher represent "Innocence" and "_____"?. These Pratt jugs are well modelled and sometimes beautifully colored - always in the old delft colors under glaze. Various subjects are portrayed often having to do with the sea, or some historical subject. The relief link borders on these jugs are characteristic.
