DescriptionEarthenware. Relief and lustre decoration. Creamware. Bluish glaze, thickly settled into depressions, very crackled. Relief, enamelled over glaze, trimmed with bands of lilac lustre. Stag hunt, showing hunters, hounds and stag surrounds the body of the pitcher. Pink horses with harness in black. Huntsmen in red, yellow and blue and black. Basket weave around base with lines of lilac lustre above and below. A band of oak leaves and acorns surrounds the collar, above which is a band of lustre. Handle is also outlined with a narrow lustre line. See note on "sporting pitchers" C804.
