DescriptionEarthenware, tin enameled. Probably from the factory of Joseph Flower Radcliffe Back, in Bristol (1743-1785, see C103). Body of yellow clay, close fired. The enamel is clear and brilliant and entirely free from crazing; of a strong blue tinge. Painted in blue in a design of rocks and peonies taken from Chinese porcelain of the Ch'ien Lung period (1736-1795). Border contains 2 large flower arrangements and 2 small. Four large flowers, all different, shown on main panel.
