DescriptionWooden box with annotated index cards. Metal latch on front; inside lid is a marbled paper in red. Front card reads, "This index belongs to:/ Russell H. Kettell/ 10 Eliot Road/ Lexington. Massachusetts./ Please notify if found/ out of his possession." Filing tabs for misc., chairs & cradles, desks, shelves & dressers, signs & weathervanes, mirrors & lights, wall boxes, chests, stools & benches. Each card contains a sketch of the object in question, with notes at side. Reverse of side notes the owner of the object, and often, if it is for sale. The box and cards were Russell Kettell's system for organizing objects he published in "Pine Furniture."
