DescriptionCrazy quilt made of many colored patches embroidered with designs and legends from "Caldecott's picture books". Colored ribbons used on front of quilt. Dominant color on front is black. Back is a sateen lining which has black background, orange roses and blue leaves. Feather stitches embroidered on quilt to hold front to back. Three embroidered pictures identified: "The House that Jack Built" (cat in tree with dog); "The House that Jack Built" (girl on stool with boy); "The Diverting History of John Gilpin" (man on horse).
