DescriptionFood chopper, mounted on a wooden base 16 x 7 1/4 x 1 1/8". Metal food container 5 1/8" deep and 8 1/8" dia. Mounted on a 3/4" piece of metal with notched teeth (a ratchet) on the underside. When a handle turns the gears this iron bottom revolves while a sharp knife hits a wooden block on the bottom of the food container. Would have been used in a commercial kitchen or cannery, to chop foods like cabbage and onions (probably not for home use). Iron and wood.
