DescriptionBrass. Tinder box. Oval. Engraved: lid has a crude design within a wreath, showing one man in what appears to be 17th century costume, being "held up" at the point of a gun by another similarly attired. A partially obliterated inscription, which may be "Hands Up", is engraved above the design. The bottom is engraved with a design representing a town street. There is a small hole in the bottom of the box which may have contained a taper holder.
