DescriptionAnnual Report. Manuscript (ink) on paper. Secretary, George Tolman, to the Concord Antiquarian Society. "The Society has received from Hapgood Wright of Lowell, a cabinet photograph of himself; and from Capt. Charles E. Bowers, a native of Concord, the sword, spurs, belt, sash and gauntlets worn by him in the late war....By role of the Executive Com. of Nov. 16, 1892, your Sec'y was appointed custodian pro tempore of the Society's house and its contents, and some brief report of his doings in that capacity may not be out of place here. It would be difficult to imagine, and impossible to exaggerate, the condition of filthiness in which everything was found....The custodian also spent several days in the house in company with Mr. Cummings E. Davis's wife, and with his guardian, to both of whom full opportunity was given (and improved) to pick out and to remove such articles of Mr. Davis's personal belongings...."
