DescriptionSecretary's Report, Concord Antiquarian Society. Manuscript (ink) on notebook (lined) paper, single sheet, folded. "The first meeting of this society was held in the lower Town Hall December 13th 1886 when the constitution an [sic] by-laws were adopted and officers chosen January 3rd 1887 the first regular montly meeting was held in the lower Town Hall when the bill of sale from Mr Cummings. E. Davis of his collection of antiquarian articles was read. also the agreement of Mrs Julia Clark to sell the estate now occupied by the Society both of which were adopted/ The meeting of March 7th 1887 was the first held by the Society in its own building and all meetings since have been held here. Twenty two names were signed by charter members and sixty five persons have accepted election and signed the books since. Five gentlemen have become life members and four have been chosen honorary members. During the short time that the collection has been open for inspection four hundred and forty three persons have signed the visitors book this does not include all that have seen the collection. Five names only on the book are those of members of the Society. Arthur G. Fuller, Secretary."
