DescriptionBlack lace jabot. When lying flat, the jabot is long and thin but widens at each end to form a large flower with leaves. The edges are scalloped and feature a picot trim. Running lengthwise down the center is a stripe with more open work with dot and flower designs. Mrs. Emerson referred to these lace neckpieces as "barbs".
