DescriptionPurple silk, seed beads. 2 piece dress. Top (COS82.84.1) has 3/4 sleeves, low waistband, loose pouchy silhouette. Collar wide and horizontal, beaded with seed beads (at waistband and collar). Velvet ribbon flower "corsage" on left of collar. Simple, slim skirt (COS82.84.2) seems to have been hemmed. Vestigial hanging bodice (boned) remains under bodice and petersham still despite new pouchy, loose silhouette of top. 1920-22. Fabric garment of purple silk found with dress (COS82.84.1 and COS82.84.2). Ordinary but nice.
