DescriptionSkirt of an afternoon dress. 3 piece purple and white striped silk, bodice (COS81.105.1), skirt (COS81.105.2), and belt (COS81.105.3); trim is purple braid sewn on sleeve and hems in a zig zag fashion. Skirt is gored with some back fullness. It has a purple silk waist sash pinked on edges and ends with large bow. Purple and white stripes--1867-68. Fabric probably cotton and silk.
