DescriptionCopper cent coin. Obverse: figure of Massasoit from the Massachusetts arms facing proper right and the inscription "COMMON/WEALTH," beaded border. Reverse: eagle from the United States arms facing proper right with the incuse word "CENT" on the shield, surrounded by the inscription "MASSACHUSETTS." and dated 1788 in the exergue, beaded border. Came with a 19th century envelope (see inscriptions).
