DescriptionPorcelain. Earthenware (?). C955-C955K, 13 odd covers. Probably for what Arlene Palmer called a hot milk jug. See C436 for form. Underside of rim and lip unglazed; strawberry finial. Oyster glaze. Decorated in black (now gray) and gilt. Border of crossed zig-zag lines with dots, in black. Black and gilt line at rim. Finial was gilt, leaves painted in black and gilt. Hole. Border identical to tea caddy C546. On pitcher C55.
