DescriptionTea pot (C737a) with lid (C737b). Earthenware, soft paste. Painted under glaze with a crude pheasant. The foliage design about the bird was made by application of a wet sponge dipped in color. Pearlware, Arlene Palmer said this was a precursor of spatter ware. A & B are pot and lid.
