Each page contains a photograph and a description or saying handwritten below photo. Eighteenth page of the album. The black and white photograph at the top of the page depicts the Concord River, tall grass in the foreground on the shore, the water in the middle ground, and a grassy bank in the background. The page reads, "The torpor of the Concord allows it / nowhere a bright pebbly shore nor so much as a / narrow strip of yellow sand in any part of its course. / It slumbers between broad prairies, kissing the / long meadow grass." [excerpt from "Mosses from an Old Manse"].
