DescriptionPhoto album of 43 loose pages combines photographic images of Concord, Massachusetts with musings on the town history and nature. Each page contains a photograph and a description or saying handwritten below photo. Fourteenth page of the album. The black and white and hand colored photograph at the top of the page depicts Sandy Pond near Walden Pond. The foreground is shadowed, but a large white birch tree sits just left of center. The pond is in the middle ground, colored light blue. The sky depicts a sunrise or sunset, pink at the horizon, transitioning to yellow and then blue above. The page reads, "Next to Walden, Thoreau loved / Sandy Pond. So did Emerson, who bought a bit of / land overlooking its bright waters/ Through Thoreau he / learned to know the shrubs and flowers that grew on / the shore, and along a brook that ran through his land."
