DescriptionLarge WWI canvas bag or tarp; probably used to cover gear. American Expeditionary Force. Artillery. Printed and painted symbols. Four steel and leather buckles on one side with matching leather straps on the other. Painted symbols include: "WT. 50 lbs.", "Cu. Ft. 7.", "LT. J.S. RICHARDSON/ 27TH F.A.", symbol of a triangle with initials AEF in each corner, symbol of three vertical red stripes, "LT JSR" with cross cannons and the initials "3B". Another symbol of cross cannons with 5 and HQ. On the reverse side is painted the date 8-2-15 and the additional symbol of cross cannons and HQ.
