Chairs like this one were called Posture Child's Chair in Allen Chair Company's line of kindergarten chairs. It agrees with the description of model 2211 from an Allen Chair catalog of the 1920, with its "steam bent moulded backs…back posts steam bent" and a "saddle seat." The chair was offered with seat heights of twelve and thirteen inches; this one is thirteen inches.
