DescriptionBodice for afternoon dress, 2005.22a-c (bodice, belt, skirt). Blue silk bodice, lined with brown cotton, no collar, sewn-in stays. 11 machine-made buttons holes, remaining threads but all buttons removed. Long sleeves with attached decoration of same blue silk cut with small-toothed pinking shears into a scalloped ribbon. There is perspiration damage to the back and underarms—new fabric has been added to underarms. Some modification was in progress on this bodice—a large piece was added to the waist and some other pieces (possibly foulard) were basted to the front. Overall: 21 x 44”
