DescriptionBedstead consisting of one footrail (1995.14a) with attached board, one headrail (1995.14b) with detached board (1995.14c), two mattress rails (1995.14d, 1995.14e) and a trundle bed (1995.14f). Maple, birch bedstead with trundle bed. Headboard and footboard each consisting of two turned posts with pointed tops bolted to a four inch rail and tenoned to a scrolled board, rosewood-grained. Stamped brass bolt covers. The red-stained birch rails are drilled for roping. The bedstead came with a crudely fashioned trundle bed with wood casters. Maple, pine, grain-painted to imitate mahogany.
