DescriptionOfficial Commemorative World's Fair Medal from Chicago, 1933. Bronze. On one side is a relief map of the fair, and around the edge is written: "A Century of Progress - International Exposition - Chicago 1933." On the other side, the allegorical figure of Progress (represented as a nude man with limbs outstretched) steps between two buildings. Under the figure's feet are the dates1833 and 1933, and written vertically are the words vertical words "Research" and "Industry". Design by E. R. Zeitler. In original box, which is rather flat with a navy blue body and golden lid. An accompanying paper booklet and an orange slip of paper further identify the object.
