DescriptionTolman Catalogue: 441. Bull's-eye glass, from the front door light of Col. James Barrett's House.

G1, G1a-c: four panes of glass. Center of a crown of green glass with a bullion or "bull's eye"; pane cut rectangular. The "bullion" or "bull's-eye" was the scar from the attachment of the pontil iron to the large blown discs used in the manufacture of crown glass, a method imported to England from France in late 17th century. These were considered "waste" and used for windows through which one did not need to see.
