MarkingsOn side of one interior drawer, ink inscription: "Jacob Blodget of Mason/ Josiah". Bottom of same drawer inscribed in stain, "Jacob/ Jacob/ Blodget". On back of same drawer, inscribed in stain, "1771".

DescriptionMaple, yellow pine. Slant-lid desk, with straight bracket feet. 4 drawers, each gradually deeper from top to bottom. From label copy ("into your hands" 2010): Emigrants from Concord were among the founders of Mason, New Hampshire about 20 years before this desk was made there. Well constructed of local maple wood with an interior inscription, the desk survives essentially unaltered.
