DescriptionManuscript and letterpress on paper. "Know all Men By these Presents, That we Ryan & Charles Kent of the Town of Petersburg and State of Virginia, are held and firmly bound unto James Harlett Ex.l of W.H. Nalle-- in the just and full sum of fifty dollars --cents to be paid to the said Jon. Harlett--his certain Attorney,.....hire of a Negro belonging to ---- called Fanny....after having been provided with, at the usual time, a Spring Suit of Clothes, a Winter Suit, two Shirts, a Hat, a Blanket, pair of Stockings and Shoes, of good, strong, serviceable stuff--And it is expressly and positively further agreed upon, that the property is not to be carried out of the Town of Petersburg." Of note, the latter demands are part of the letterpress form.
