To Mr. Ephraim Merrick Town Treawsurer for thed Town of Preston pay to Mr. Amos Starkweather Sixteen pounds Ten Shillings in Silver Money out of this Town Money with Interest from the first Day of January Last untill paid it being for his 6 months Servie in the Continental Army. Dated Preston Sept. 2nd 1783.
