DescriptionDay dress, traveling dress. Two piece black silk taffeta; bolero-style jacket with pointed trim around neck, black velvet braid around edge of jacket and long jacket sleeves. Full gored skirt with back fullness. The bodice worn with the dress is missing. Black silk with black velvet trim. Bolero jacket, rarely survives. 1863-65. Gored (narrower at top than bottom). Skirt is 1868-70, not related to jacket.
