DescriptionSkirt to a two piece afternoon dress. Bodice (COS64.66.1) and skirt (COS64.66.2). Bright purple broadcloth; full skirt ankle length gathered at the back, has six up and down pleats, each edged with narrow white broadcloth and soutach braid. Blouse military looking. Large purple revers with stripe insets of white broadcloth edged with black braid. 6 large brass buttons. Long sleeve with cuff of black braid and gold. Purple wool, black velvet. 2 piece suit (needs a blouse). Straight sleeves, but flare a bit. Good quality skirt and lining separate, c. 1900. Double breasted jacket with wide velvet lapels. Cording and frogs detail. Has "military" look.
