DescriptionEvening dress. Lavender & pale blue with rose facing; one piece gown with low waistline, no belt. Flat form chested. Low v-neck round back, filled in with vest of pleated flesh-colored chiffon. Sleeveless. Lining of ecru net. Skirt short in front, long points at sides to show bright rose taffeta facing. Blue satin brocade; 1 piece sleeveless evening dress. V neck with illusion panel. Hot pink inner hem. Uneven hem length. Unusual, heavy, opaque material. Cut from 1890s skirt. Homemade. 1926-28. Attached to dress was a small piece of fabric (COS54.4.2) that might have been used under the neckline of the dress to make it more modest, almost like a camisole.
