DescriptionA man's shako style military uniform hat made of black leather embellished with a feather plume. The hat is cylindrical in shape with a flat crown and a short, stiff leather brim and a leather strap around the back of the head. A gray and red feather plume adorns the top front of the crown. A brass, shield shaped badge is attached to the front, above the brim. The badge features the Massachusetts state seal and the words: "MASSACHUSETTS MILITIA".
