DescriptionMan's black top hat, previously identified as black silk but appears to be made from beaver fur. The hat is a "Lincoln-style" stovepipe hat, though the band is narrower than some Lincoln types. The lining is no longer present, though on the interior of the hat around the maker's label, a blue and white geometric design is visible.
