MarkingsMark: Melbourne - G. &. W. Late Mayers. Impressed in bottom "IVORY" and an undecipherable mark. In center of ring, figure of a man leaning over a large pitcher, all on a base which has the date 1790.

DescriptionEarthenware. Ivory colored, decorated in brown by transfer printing. Bottom, an exotic bird with a long beak perched on a bamboo shoot with leaves, prune blossoms and a water scene in a rectangle - mountains, rising sun, boats, houses and trees. On one side, flying storks and prune blossoms, on the other side, a gnarled tree and bird.
