DescriptionWhite or cream colored silk vest with a swirl pattern, possibly part of a wedding outfit. Hand sewn, and material and construction suggest it was made in the 1830s-1840s. Two pockets at the waist and one on the left side, close to under the armpit. Period signature by the hem in ink, "P. Richardson's / vest". "Keyes" is written in ink under the collar, perhaps written at a later date.
