DescriptionInside pencil box sample case (2018.009.010) covered in leather with brass tack design and rectangular with domed lid. This is a large lidded cardboard box insert that brown with gold and white floral pattern. Label on front side reads, "6 Dozen/Ship Carpenter Pencils/For Lineing & Marking on Rough Timber./Manufactured by Francis Monroe/Concord, MA." Stamp on bottom, "E.P. Jones/Paper/Boxes./11 Tremont Row, Boston." Contains smaller lidded cardboard box (2018.009.010.2).
