DescriptionPair of child's shoes, leather, early 19th century (2016.1.15a and b). Slippers. Holes present around the collar for buckles. The leather has been blackened on the upper section of the shoes while the soles have been left their natural leather color. These were the first shoes worn by Susan Parks Pierce (wife of Cyrus Pierce).
