DescriptionLetter (a) and envelope (b). Letter: addressed to Chuck and Mary (Mr. and Mrs. Charles Mara of Concord, Mass). Manuscript on paper; two pages. Description of his recent deployment, including his "nice" treatment, officers going out of their way to make it "nice", the food being very good, and the English being very friendly. He says, "They know there is a war going on. You can read it on their faces." He says that he is somewhere in England but cannot say any more. He asks Mary to try to make time pass more pleasantly for Allison, presumably his wife. He also asks if they can send cigarettes to him, signing the letter, "Bubs." World War II (WWII).
