MarkingsIn ink on front cover, "WM Monroe/ No. 1". Inside front cover, in ink, "William Munroe's/ Ledger Book [crossed out] Day Book./ December Th 21 1799." All the covers are heavily doodled with various words including Boston, Concord, and Tom. Back cover was used to figure various calculations and sums. Also includes doodles Boston, Concord, and Roe.

DescriptionManuscript on paper. Pasteboard covers. Leather binding. Ledger of accounts for furniture making. Initial pages include payment for the making of a sideboard, firescreen, card table, chairs, as well as the purchase of broadcloth, buttons, thread, etc. One page noted Memorandum 1804. It notes the people who came to board [live] with him, and possibly also to work with him.
