MarkingsLabel on back: "George Minot from Charles Hubbard." In pencil on the wood above the picture: "David Hubbard Presented this Picture to George Minott 1816." In pencil under one of the paper strips: "Painted by David Hubbard in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred ten". Fragments of pasted label on back: "Profile Likenesses/ David[?] Hubbard,/ Acquaints the Ladies and Gentlemen of/That he takes Profiles... [illegible]"

DescriptionDrawing and watercolor. Pine, birch; painted glass. Picture of a bouquet of flowers in a vase (blue banded urn), watercolor; colors of rose, blue, green and yellow. The picture is a stenciled and freehand watercolor on wove paper. There are minor losses to the gilding on the reverse-painted glass. Pine frame featured in Concord Museum's catalogue: mitered corners is faced with a band of lunette inlay. The back has been reattached with glazer's points and is covered with a polyethelene sheet. A crazed varnish covers the front surface. Sealed with fragments of a broadside advertising "profile likenesses" by David Hubbard.
