DescriptionA tortoise shell comb. The tortoise shell is predomently light amber in color. The comb features 12 teeth (originally 13, one is missing) and a high, carved crest. The crest features alternating, triangular segments. Every other segment is embellished with open work carving in a vine motif. The other segments feature a carved, wave pattern. The edges of the crest are scalloped. Accompanying the comb is a sealed paper envelope containing one of the broken teeth.
