DescriptionWoman's cap made of ecru lace adorned with floral embroidery (carrickmacross lace). The cap has no frame or stitching to provide support, but rests pliable and loose over the head. Two lappets hang down the sides.

A photograph shows a portrait of a woman posed seated wearing a dark colored dress and a bonnet with long lappets, possibly identified as COS75.59. She is posed in profile, turned toward the proper right. The photograph is mounted on cardstock with the text: "WHIPPLE, 207 Washington St,. Boston.
