DescriptionAfternoon dress, bodice (COS52.4.1), skirt (COS52.4.2), and reproduction collar (COS52.4.3). Brown and white striped (plaid) and flowered taffeta with golden brown chiffon; worn for football costume; tight bodice, large ruffled sleeves of chiffon, probably had high collar; skirt is long with full behind, faced and stiffened 12" up from hem. Warp print silk, rust colored silk chiffon. 3 piece bodice and skirt and sash. Large chiffon tiered sleeves. Plaid and floral fabric is 1850s. c. 1894. Collar (redone) should have pleat at center.
