DescriptionA pair of shoe buckles for a woman. The buckles are oval and made of a grey metal, possibly pewter. They feature an openwork loop design around the edge. At the middle are two hinged prongs. A note accompanying the buckles reads: "These buckles were / found in the / "old house" where / Granda (Edwin) and Grandma (Mary) Wheeler / [indistinct] after their wedding / in 1845". On the verso it continues: "Similar to / Revolutionary / times".
