DescriptionPlaster, colored light brown. "Dolly Varden and Joe Wllet [Joe Willet]". Sculptural group of two figures before a forge, inscribed on the front of the base, "JOE'S FAREWELL." This group, based on a passage from Charles Dickens' "Barnaby Rudge," is the most ambitious work by French in terms of narrative and produced in remarkable detail.
