DescriptionPorcelain, hard paste. Octagonal with slight notch at each angle. River and island scene in blue and white. Composite border of scale diaper, flowers, butterflies and symbols. Such borders, part Chinese, part European, appear on much of the blue and white ware made for Europe, and were extensively copied by Staffordshire potters on English transfer printed wares.
