DescriptionParian portrait bust of Abraham Lincoln, president of United States. Bearded man with full head of hair, mole near nose. Bust set on round base. Possibly one of a series of portraits of Abolitionists, commissioned by Boston merchants Jones, McDuffee & Stratton in the 1870s, executed in parian porcelain in England, probably by Robinson & Leadbeater, to be sold in America. However, it may be an earlier product of A.A. Childs & Co. (127 Tremont St., Boston) which firm copyrighted a Milmore Lincoln in 1869 (see file).
