"The Costume Committee of the 19th of April Celebration makes the following announcement: On the days of celebration, April 19th and 20th, it is hoped that men, women, and children of the Town of Concord will wear as symbol of their loyal citizenship, scarfs or neckties especially made for the occasion, displaying the Colonial colors, buff and blue. The scarfs and neckties are on sale at all local dry goods stores....Although it is expected that ladies will choose the scarfs and gentlemen the neckties. Gentlemen may wear the scarfs arranged as military sashes, or ladies may wear the ties, if they prefer them. Buy as soon as possible at Miss Buck's, W.D. Cross's, Concord Clothing Store, M.J. Finigans, Adams Co., Towne Shoppe, Lerer's Department Store, or Harry Fritz's. Costume Committee: Gertrude H. Rideout (Chairman), Sarah R. Bartlett, Mariam B. Bartlett, Marian L. Towne, Ruth A. Pratt. The official booklet containing Mr. French's Story of the Concord Fight, a map of the parade, and traffic regulations will be on sale about the 10th of April.
